50 + and desperate for help

I am turning 51 on my Birthday this year and am in need of some serious help to lose these extra pounds. It is so depressing. I NEED to lose at least 40 lbs. but would like to lose 50 to 60. It seems next to impossible.

I have been counting calories and walking on my treadmill. I try to keep my calories to 1000 - 1100 a day and walk a minimum of 30 minutes and have been on some days walking 40 to 50 minutes. All of this to no avail.

I don't understand why I can't drop this weight. Please help me.

how often do you walk 40 - 50 mins? Maybe you should try walking up to an hour how much water are you drinking.....read over you food logs maybe you need to add more fruits and veggies and less of breads and starches......I drink 64 oz a water a day.....and it helps keep everything moving.....try that.

I'll be 50 this fall and I need to lose a 100 but I'm going on a cruise in Nov. so I will be happy with 25 -50 between now and them........

I would like to join this group. I need a very active group who wants to communicate daily. How do we turn the interest into an actual group?

I am also a woman over age 50 who has dieted on and off all of my life - I am REASDY to make this the last time! But I could really use good support from like minded folk - wo, do let me know if there is a formal team or group started.

0ver 50 with almost 100 to loose

I am almost 60 and could loose almost 100 without being "too thin." have several big educational and professional acheivements that will be celebrated in May of 2008. I want to be able to be able to walk up to receive my honors without the fear that everyone is thinking how fat I am. More importantly, I am recovering from cancer and want to really be able to look to a future that is full of health and energy. I also want to celebrate my 60th birthday on February 1, 2008 with a sense that I am moving into health and self-determination.
