skinny - is it what guys want?

i have been wondering this for a while....is skinny what guys really want? I know it's good to be healthy and thats why I am on a diet - but to be skinny? I don't think that should be a goal. So guys I have a question for you......would you rather have the skeleton girl with a BMI of less than 20 or a healthy curvy girl?

compare the women shown in men's magazines to those in women's magazines. there's your answer.

Why are you so concerned about what guys want? You should want to lose weight for yourself, not some random jackass.

I love how the word curvy is now used to designate absolutely any body type except thin. Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps thin people can also be curvy, in it's more stricter sense of having feminine curves? I have a large bust and a good waist to hip ratio, but I only weigh 120 pounds. So... I'm not considered "curvy" just because I'm not chubby?

And for the record, a HEALTHY BMI is 18.5 and above. Having a BMI below 20 doesn't designate someone as a "skeleton," but it may designate them as thinner and less bitter than you.

why is there one bitchy poster on every single thread? stop reading into every thing so much-sometimes people just are curious about things and feel like asking questions anonymously! honey you sound more bitter than the OP despite being only 120 lbs.

The question is wrong

I'm a guy. I love women. Woo!

I'm so much more attracted to a woman that's confident in herself.

I was listening this on the radio this morning. Some university did a study on what traits are men attracted in women evolutionary and this is what they came up with.

Measurments 34E/24/34 apprently this is sign of fertility as well as 5'8" height wich is sign of a good health, not too short not to tall, and suprisingly enough brown hair. Brown hair is shinier which is a sign of a lot of estrogen another fertility sign. Kelly Le Brook was the example. Here, now the science confirmed it, too.

It's been my experience that when men mean curvy they mean, flat stomach and long legs with big breasts and round hips.

when guys say they like "curvy" girls, it doesn't mean that they like overweight girls! All the girls in men's magazine's have more to them, but they are still really fit and well-toned. and yes, most of them have big boobs and nice, toned buts. in my opinion, thats what guys want. not a stick-figure, not a girl with too much fat on here, but a well-toned, healthy looking, clean person!

I think it depends on the culture. Black men I was with told me I was too thin, and in fact they were attractted to women with larger breasts and a larger butt and thighs. To them, I was not curvy enough. I asked them about this and they told me that they do not like fat women, they just like more substance, as in meat, not fat.
My current boyfriend thinks I am a bit on the pudgy side, and he is white.

I think that nomatter how curvy men like their women, there is still a general concensus: No man likes weight on the stomach or waist - they like it on the butt and breasts. Curvy means just that - not rolly, not wide, not pudgy. Curvy like an hourglass. The other thing I'm sure men like is no cellulite, no rolls in weird places, and loose soft jiggly places.

I used to think a lot about this too - which should I be, thin or curvy? Well it turns out that it's a rediculous question. Don't worry about getting too skinny and losing fat. You don't need much of it anyway, and most women look better with less baggage. Worry about being healthy and active - this will give you that tight and toned hour-glass body, no matter what size.

My experience is that men like a woamn that is confident and funny. As long as you are healthy, despite your weight and have those attributes you will be attractive.

all guys do not look for the same type of body shape or the same type of personality in a woman. be yourself. if you are unhappy with how you feel around others, do something to improve your feelings (whether that be taking classes, getting therapy, exercising more, reading for the blind...whatever), but do it for yourself. if you base your attractiveness to men on your body's shape, i think you will be shorting yourself and will probably attract shallow, controlling, selfish men. if you base your attractiveness, on the other hand, on how well you can carry on a conversation or how well-read you are or on your sense of humor, you will probably attract men who like you for who your are inside and that's what's really important. in the victorian era, much emphasis was placed upon how socially ept a person was, taking into account manners, signs of empathy, respectfulness, conversational skills, getting along with others in all situations. i think these values have been lost in many ways. but, they say that history repeats itself, so i am basing my attractiveness to men on the above listed qualities. best to all!
