I like the concept of this group. I think it is very important for the entire person to be made whole. God has to be the fondation for everything in ones life. When you seek Him 1st everything else falls in to place.

Here, here 9.25. God ain't the foundation for anything in this atheist's life. Belief in self and society is.

I think this is wonderful, and if people do not like it , they can find something else. You do not need to be rude and nasty.

That's great. Go find a topic that speaks to you, then! These first two posters are not like you, and you are not like them. It's okay for people to be different. And it's okay to open up a topic, realize it's not to your liking, and quietly leave it to those for whom it matters.

It's like getting a sample issue of a magazine in the mail--you don't have to subscribe and you don't have to send the company a letter telling them how much you hate their magazine. You just toss the magazine and the reply postcard into the trash and go on about your day. Right? Well, this is like that--except without the loss of trees.

9:25 and 5:22 Well, at least now you know you don't want to read this thread any more. We won't bother you. We will seek to encourage each other in whatever way we see fit, and for us it by using God's strength as we seek to improve ourselves. Have a wonderful day.

Non-whole person???

Hey...I'm all for whoever believing what they want or need to make themselves whole. God/Yahweh/theSpirit/theLight/universal energy...

HOWEVER, what makes the initial posts offensive is the implication that belief in God is the ONLY WAY and that those of us who are choosing to go about our PT/weight loss/path to wellness without a Christian philosophy are somehow LESS WHOLE!!

Yes, for me getting healthy is also a spiritual, emotional, mental journey, but it may not be for everyone and it may not have anything to do with Jesus or God, in traditional terms. Perhaps the OP should have been more specific in his/her title and suggested that s/he was looking for a Christian group to journey with her in PT. The words and tone that were used do indeed come across as proselytizing and yes, self-righteous.

And, please don't reply - go find your own thread - the title was meant to draw people in to proselytize. That is the problem - not rational people reacting to it because they are indeed offended.

I think this group is great; it is not offensive at all. People will get offended no matter what is said or done. Once again if this team is not for you- move on. Have a great day !!!!!!!!

Wow, a group for adults who still need their imaginary friend -- how wonderful that the special-needs crowd can find each other on PT.

8.22pm - that's really harsh! And made me snigger! I particularly like those posters on here who say "move on (which I take as "fuck off"), but hey! have a great day!" Now, that's not very Christian!

WoW, I have never seen such rude and nasty people . People who do not having anything better to do but be mean. It's very sad. If you do not like what this team is about that is fine; Others do like it.

7:20 - I don't think "move on" means "fuck off", I think it means "take your nasty attitude elsewhere because we'd rather focus on positives!"

Psst, 11:12, I'm a born again Christian and the occasional swear does leave my lips! Being godly does not equal being perfect, just forgiven! I'm so thankful that God's forgiveness is infinite, because my screwup sure are!

9.36pm: If you put your trust in an intangible belief to forgive you for your wrongdoings, does that mean that you don't consider yourself accountable to other people for your actions and behavior?

11:36 To you who do not believe it is "intangible; " To us that do, it is truly life changing. We are far from being perfect, we desire to be the best we can be; by loving our God and our fellow man. We are very accoutable to God and to other people. It is a life style based on love and respect.
Granted, not all who call themselves " Christians or belivers act in a Loving or kind way; however you can not judge a group of people because some of them act like jerks. What a wonderful place this world would be if we could accept each other just the way we are; without judging, criticizing or trying to change each other.

11:26, it's a sad, sad thing when you need to have someone hold you accountable in order ot be a good person. Some of us manage not to kill, steal, cheat, deceive, swindle, or hurt without needing a list in some over-translated book written by a bunch of power-hungry men.
