How much weight have you lost since Beck Diet Solution?

I've been dieting since January but in a slump since this summer - gained back some lbs and have been unable to lose those last 5-10 lbs. Read this book a few weeks ago (forget 42 days - how about 7? I needed a kickstart!) and thought, like many, that the exercises and methods were perfect for me and so far so good - I feel really great about this! After 1 week, I'm down a few pounds and am just curious how much others have lost (and kept off, for how long) since applying her cognitive therapy methods? (I find others accomplishments so inspirational.)
Thanks!

I've lost 17lbs since the beginning of September. I know that's not the fastest rate, but it has been quite steady, and much easier than other times I've tried to lose weight.

OP here - I think that is an impressive amount of weight to lose in that amount of time. Congratulations (and thanks for sharing)!!

I got Beck this summer for my last 10 pounds and I feel like they have melted off. Of course, they didn't, but the cognitive stuff made everything seem SO easy. I don't know, it's kind of like she says, when you decide something you eliminate the battle. I'm a big fan!

after being on a plateau for about a month, I started doing Beck's exercises and have lost 5 pounds in 4 weeks. Nice and slow, but it sure did help.

I bought the book last June. It was very helpful. I have not finished reading it. I've lost 10 lbs and feel its time to finish my goal. I'll be starting to reread the book tonight. Thanks for the reminder.

What is the basic gist of the BSD and what makes it different from other diets? I'm just curious since I've never heard of it before. Is it a low cab diet? lifestyle change? Thanks!

BDS isn't a diet, this is a program that has you work with a HEALTHY diet of your choice, choosing 2 just in case you are not happy with the 1st & then you have a backup plan.

BDS has you go over different things that tend to make you overeat, e.g. eatting fast, eatting while standing, emotional eatting. The program helps you readjust your life so you can feel when you are hungry or full, & gets you past those cravings. I feel it is a wonderful program.

this is a summary on the BDS, written by PT but based on what community members themselves wrote about it.
