What is one thing I can do each day to improve my health?

I'm making a list and I want ideas. I am going to put these into my online calendar and have a daily reminder. My thinking here is that I pre-program my summer.

I already have a bunch of great ideas and I want some more.

Thank you!!

At work, always use the bathroom on a different floor and take the stairs! Even just one flight a few times a day will help!

Fruit

Try new fruits as oftern as possible - this is the best time of year for fresh fruits. Check out farmer's markets and ask if you don't know how to eat a particular fruit. You'll get a whole new range of vitamins and antioxidents!

Breathe

Take a few minutes each day to relax ad breathe. Being calm and destressing is a big piece of being healthy (at least for me!).

At malls and etc, park as far away as you dare. Finding parking will be easier and you'll get in a few extra steps.

Also, set a timer at regular intervals when youre at work. At those intervals stop and do, say 10 squats or something you can do at your desk. At an old job, we 4:30 used to be the regular time for lets go walk around the block.

Id forgotten about the last - Im going to start doing this myself.

Also, love to see your calendar!

Flowers In Your House or Apartment

Its summer, keeping some cut flowers in a vase is always a great way to improve your spiritual mood. Dr Weil discusses this in his "8 Weeks to Optimal Health".

Drink coffee. (Well, not to excess. And not so much that it keeps you awake at night!) The medical profession is telling us now that coffee is good for us. It's not the caffeine, it's all the other stuff in coffee that is good for us.

be consistent.. whatever you decide to do .. commit to it everyday.. remember being healthy is a everyday thing.

own your choices and make them count

physically emotionally mentally.. you are in control

make a list of why you want to get healthy.. and i say get healthy because for me i find if i concentrate on my health weight loss follows suit.

so for me its about making lasting life changes.. not just losing weight.

so far i have released 193 pounds so far.. this is what works for me..

remeber water is key in flushing out toxins

also go back if you dont eat a plant based diet and look at portions.. is that chicken 4 or 6 oz.. is that 1 or 2 oz of cheese.. its the little things that can hold you back from reaching your goals.american portions are blow out of proportions than what they should be.

i had a food scale and measuring cups when i ate meat, but i have been meat free for 4 months now.. no dairy, eggs and also gluten free.

something else is logging is key for me.. emotional support and accountability.

when eating out.. sauces, dressings everything to the side.. dont be scared to ask for things to be modified no butter or oil on veggies.. no cheese or croutons on salads.. whatever works for you.. also look at the menu ahead of time.. make your choice.. order first.. no peer pressure and no looking the menu over like crazy and getting trapped by the food in the pictures .. that the food NEVER looks like the picture when it comes anyway ..

wear a pedometer.. shows you how active you are.. do lunges squats at your desk. take the steps not the elevator. park further away.. find something you enjoy..as exercise it doesnt have to be the gym. could be zumba yoga, kickball.. wow i dated myself there lol

also make sure you have healthy relationships, your cooking healthy meals, staying active, have a job you love. you have a creative outlet, you are making room for laughter and joy in your life.. socializing.. all these things or lack of them contribute to overeating..

they are called primary foods.. if your lacking in them you will turn to secondary foods which is the food we eat.. and emotional eating happens, binges happens..

so make sure you are finding enrichment and fullfillment in your life.

just some thoughts for you..
