still hungry after protein shakes

I have been trying to add protein shakes to my diet to help me stay full longer...but I am finding that I'm hungry 30 minutes after I have one. Am I doing something wrong here ? I'm having one scoop of powder (19 g protein) + 8 oz. skim milk + fruit.

This is basically a 250 calorie, 19 g protein snack that is not keeping me full. Am I making them wrong or are they just not worth it.

Any help would be appreciated.

You probably need to add some fats to that snack to make it more filling, or fiber (depending on what fruit you're eating), or both. You may be more full if you use 2% milk and skip the fruit (for the same calories), or by adding a handful of nuts, etc.

take your protein shake with a complex carb. You mentioned fruit, which would be ok, depending on the fruit. A green apple would be the best choice.

I would pair your protein shake with vegi's or oatmeal. Some kind of complex carb. That combination SHOULD keep you full for a while. If not, well then your body is weird, and it is hopeless :) JK

Oh, i should also add that you can make your protein shakes with water instead of milk if you want less calories. I always make mine with water. Personal preference I suppose.

Thanks! I think that the complex carbs might be what I'm missing. I thought about adding oatmeal but that just seems like a lot of food for a mid-afternoon snack. I'm a 5'4" female so a 250 calorie snack can really throw me off track.

I just had some cashews and that seems to be helping. I'll try it with water and see how it tastes. thanks!!

You should have breakfast after the exercise because that is necessary to fulfill your body demands. Only the protein shake is not enough for you. I hope recommendation by the public would be enough for you and must follow the time4writing reviews rules as well.
