The Abs Diet - anyone tried it?

Hello out there! I just picked up a copy of the companion book to the Abs Diet at Target last night (cause it was cheaper than the whole book). Has anyone tried this/knows someone who has? It sounds pretty logical and more of a way to think about things as opposed to a diet.
You get a cheat meal every week, can still eat cereal (thank goodness! I love my cheerios), but I just wanted to see if anyone has some input.
Thanks!

I liked the concept of the Abs Diet and the way it incorporates lots of different research results. Most of the food pushed by this plan works nicely for me (pizza falls under "eat frequently"...woohoo!). However, with 6 meals a day using their recipes and guidelines, you clock up 2000 calories -- which works fine for men, who are the target audience for that diet. So I've done it but with reduced portions and a bit of caloried counting.

I'm now just counting calories, but I because of my attempts at the Abs Diet, I've made steel-cut oatmeal my breakfast of choice and I've started drinking smoothies (but I hate yogurt and can't make them to save my life, so I get them from Jamba Juice with extra fiber and doctor it with some protein powder).

I believe the exercise advice is pretty sound, except that 20 mins of cardio 3x a weeks is more of a minimum maintenance level than one that will achieve serious results. I like the Abs Diet circuit training DVD - it's a favorite in my collection.

I have been inadvertantly following it for six months... I just learned of it, and I found my food choices have been right on and I eat many snacks all day long instead of big meals. If I am on it, I guess it works, because I have lost weight!
