Sugar is gone but here comes the Salt

Need some advice - ever since I started cutting back on my sweets, I've noticed that I've been eating a lot more "salty" foods. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? I've never been one for crackers or chips but I've seem to be craving them more. My boss, who does Jenny Craig always says salt is easier to flush from your system w/ water than sugar. Is there any truth to that? Any suggestions to get away from this 'salt-craze'?

There is truth to what your boss said. The reason being that salt makes you thirsty so you drink more water and it flushes out, sugar gets stored for future energy. But also keep in mind that your body craves what it needs. Prehaps its as simple as your body needing that salt right now. But if you want to cut back on salt try getting things less salty. Most things nowadays offer less salt options or you can get slatless saltfree things and add salt yourself this way you control how much salt your actually using.

is salt really so bad for you?

If you don't have high blood pressure, is there really any reason to avoid salt?

Any thoughts on this?
