How I broke through a brief plateau

I reread the whole book on the diet I'm following, to remind myself of the salient points that perhaps I wasn't adhering to. Turns out that I had been skipping over quite a few of them, and all it took was 2 days to show a sudden 2-lb loss off that plateau number.

I don't think it's the specific diet I'm following -- it's just a matter of sticking closely to the principles of whichever one you choose. I turned a diet that upholds the concept of power foods, high protein/dairy/fiber, and 6 small meals into a simple calorie-counting exercise, and it stopped working.

I'd also like to thank Jamba Juice for opening a store near me -- I make horrible smoothies (a serious staple of my chosen plan), and their Enlightened line is a real a dietsaver.

I don't think it really matters what diet you follow or what book you read, as long as you stick to it. I'm reading/doing The Abs Diet (very male-oriented, and a very entertaining read -- I'm female), which combines a lot of research about food and exercise into a single focused plan. To address the psychological factors of weight gain/loss, I frequently reread Thin Tastes Better.
