Insane amount of calories!

I just dined out at Cheesecake Factory tonight. As I was searching the Internet for nutritional data for Thai Lettuce Wraps, I stumbled upon this interesting tidbit

"The Center for Science in the Public Interest once named Craig's Crazy Carrot Cake Cheesecake as its Food Porn of the Month because one slice has 1,560 calories and 84 grams of fat. This is like eating three Quarter Pounders for dessert."

So glad I skipped the cheesecake!

Congratulations! I think it really pays to celebrate all sorts of little things, including being proud of skipping something that you would have regretted later. Good to know you can go out to eat and still stick to your plan!

"Food Porn" ... oh, that's BRILLIANT. What a fantastic term for edible obscenities.

Thai lettuce wraps are super-yummy, aren't they?

Eating out is tough sometimes. I went out to eat with a friend recently & got soup and a hearty salad. She got a pan pizza. She knows I'm obsessed with food, so she asked me how many calories I thought she ate -- about 1,000 is what I said. She was shocked. We looked her pizza up on-line and it was over 900 calories. She underestimated the calories of her meal by half.

I did the same thing and found that if you order thin crust pizza it cuts the calories basically in half. Small changes make a big difference!
