True confessions...I just ate 5 butter cookies

A vendor dropped off a huge tin of butter cookies and before I knew it, I had eaten five of them. I'm hoping that if I distract myself by entering it into Peertrainer that I will stop. I've been doing so well. I can stop. 5 cookies is enough.

You can do it!

I had a similar breakdown yesterday. Mine stopped at 4 cookies - but only because there were only 4 cookies in the tin. But today is a new day. I just have to remember that I am saving my dessert rations for Sunday, so I can enjoy Christmas dinner. Just 4 more days and it will all be gone.

You can stop there! Put the tin somewhere else, give it away, put it in a break room with a "help yourself!" sign on it... Think of a reward to give yourself if you keep from having any more. Go for a brisk walk to get your positive energy back up, take a mental break and refocus. You can do it.

Thanks! So far, so good. I made myself a pot of tea and am focusing on that for awhile. I have to say, it's pretty amazing that I can log on here and enter a plea for support and get it so quickly. This really helps!

Cutting up an apple to eat is also a good way to keep away cravings!

An apple? You must be kidding. Does not cut the craving for me for anything.

mass produced food is nothing

Try this way to avoid holiday treats:
When you get presented with food from a store bakery or some other mass produced source, reject it for its lack of soul. think of the people who made the stuff, and how much they probably dislike the job of churning out cookie after cookie, endlessly. this christmas I will eat only home made, from scratch stuff. Anything that comes in a tin, box etc. doesn't have any love or purpose behind it except to empty my wallet and fill me with sugar. so i don't crave it on those grounds.

I meant eating an apple, not just cutting it.
It helps to fill up your stomach--plus the fiber keeps your bowels moving, so I think it helps get rid of the "bad stuff" more quickly from your system...
