Description:

Yams are awesome. They are low in fat, low in sugar, high in fiber and PACKED with important nutrients. For example, they are high in vitamin b6, which is associated with lower risk of stroke and heart disease.

As you can see from the attached nutritional profile, Yams are also very high in Potassium which is a critically important nutrient. Overall Yams are considered a "Nutrient Dense" food on Dr. Furhman's/ Eat Right America's ANDI score system. Yams have an ANDI score of around 80, which is important because that makes it a top 20 vegetable.

This is important because Yams and sweet potatoes are very filling, easy to cook and taste great with a little cinnamon. When you eat Yams you are improving your health and helping give your body the nutrients it needs to feel less hungry.
